Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenWhen he was 27, he enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark and graduated in 1995. In addition to his part in the drama series that was released worldwide as The Killing, he subsequently played in two other internationally highly acclaimed Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He was also a key part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards, his character was the president of Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his role on the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. It was broadcast in the UK in 2019 under the title Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen can speak fluent English, Swedish, German and Danish in addition to his mother tongue. He also has picked up several accents. He has claimed that the two brothers first picked up English by listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
