Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly songs that dealt with sexual identity and race with a boldly comedic perspective before expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was via the trumpet. Apart from classical music and jazz, she started to study hip-hop during her teens. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies, and then majored both in women's study and journalism. In a short period during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. Not until after graduation did she begin to concentrate on music. Her song My Vag which was her response to Mickey Avalons My Dick, became a popular viral sensation on the Internet and later appeared on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$. The track that was the last one to be connected directly to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was which was published in 2015. With musician and author on her resume she set her sights on an actor for a third venture. Aside from early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk, she's also appeared in movies including Neighbors2Storks and Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she got several notable roles including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP,"In Fina We Trust in June of that year.
